CT Gold Buyers® GUIDELINES & POLICIES

State law

In October of 2011 new state laws went into affect. The major changes are that it is now a felony to pay cash for precious metals. We are now also required to keep digital photo's of all items purchased and make them available to police upon request. I would also like to mention that contrary to popular belief, there is no state mandated hold period for buying precious metals. One of the revisions of the statutes provided seperate classifications for different types of second hand dealers. While many types of dealers are now required to hold purchases for 10 days after buying them, the language was not added to the precious metals dealers laws. While I was not involved in the new legislation, I suspect that legislators recognize that Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium Jewelry and coins are in fact commodities with prices based on an ever changing market, and that used jewelry and coins containing these metals are purchased as a commodity, therefore, you cannot regulate the ability for an entity to buy and sell a commodtiy as the pricing or value is time sensitive.

Internal policies

We are committed to following all State and Local Laws and Ordinances. It is our policy to strictly adhere to the standards the state and our law enforcement require of us. We will also work with our community and local law enforcement to uphold the law and assist in identifying parties that use our services to sell property that is not theirs, or aquired by way of theft or fraudulent means.

Let it be known that we do not want to buy property that is not wholly owned by the individual selling it. Please do not bring us property that is not yours!

We reserve the right to report suspicious activity to law enforcement and practice due dilligence during the course of purchasing precious metals from any person.

We may, if warranted, prior to committing to purchase, check an individuals pending criminal charges and past convictions, and upon result of any theft or burglary charges, refrain from buying any property from an individual who has a record of theft or burglary.

Further, if we ask you how you aquired the items you are offering to sell, or ask where you got them, don't be surprised. If you say your grandmother sent you to sell them, we may ask to call her.

Payment

We pay via Bank Check or Bank Wire only. Cash is never kept on premises and is not an option for payment.

Municipal ordinances

We recognize that every town has it's own local charters and ordinances, as well as zoning compliance and building codes that can limit the way and how we conduct business as precious metals dealers. We will comply with all local codes while maintaining our strict payout guidelines.

locale

All business conducted by our company or it's representatives will be done on premises at one of our locations. We will never meet with persons outside of our locations under any circumstances, with the exception of our founder, Joseph Candella, for purposes of estate appraisal or liquidation. If someone tells you they work for us or are a buyer for our company, do not believe them and contact us or law enforcement immediately. We do not enage in "gold parties" or other activities that provide a third party to profit from your property. Further, our employees are restricted from doing business with any of our customers outside of our workplace and outside of our strict guidelines.
